I sit daydreaming, rocked in my seat whilst the wheels clatter and the brakes scream. As I’m swallowed by the din, your whisper creeps along the threads of your voice, pulling my attention back to our loose ends. I can cut them and pick at them but I’ll always find another in my hem, working its way loose, protruding from a hidden place. A gentle … Continue reading Daily Thread
Nearly two years have passed since I last wrote! So much has happened in that time, most of it good, but it’s time to get back to some creative joy. I’ve been starting lots and finishing nothing, and I need to change that. Did you watch the Channel 4 series “Grayson’s Art Club”? That’s one of the main reasons I’ve dusted myself down and picked … Continue reading Hello stranger
During the last few months I’ve had a lot on my mind. Most of the “things” seem pretty big, and I’ve been frustrated as I can’t seem to find my way through them. This all sounds very dramatic, but it isn’t really. I have probably made it more stressful through my usual way of needing to find a solution RIGHT NOW and wanting to get cracking. This has always been one of my short comings, not having the patience to just let things unfold as they should. Continue reading “Letting go of the outcome”

We support local yarn stores (either bricks and mortar or online), independent producers and yarn dyers with our weekly promo post. We want you to tell us about your own business and share the love for others … Continue reading Are you an Everyday Knitter?
If you’ve seen this amazing book of canine crochet patterns you’ll have noticed some real life dogs gracing the pages along with their crochet counterparts. When Kerry Lord, founder and creative director of Toft put out a request for doggy models on Facebook, I replied with a picture of my dog Stanley, and I was thrilled (and somewhat surprised) when he was chosen to represent “Romeo” the Schnauzer. May has been all about perseverance for me. The last few months have been like playing with dry sand on a beach, but never quite reaching the point where you get to the firm layer that is more consistent. Continue reading “May 2018 roundup”
I originally wrote a post on my old blog in July 2017 regarding getting my mojo back, and it is as relevant today as it was 11 months ago. Continue reading “2018 Targets – May update”
